Job Description: Handyman

Gaspar’s Construction has been a local Seattle Residential Remodeler in the Seattle area since 1975 and as we continue to grow, we continue to seek those who want to grow with us.

We are looking for individuals with the unique ability to perform a broad range of light remodeling tasks, confidently, without supervision, whilst maintaining Gaspar’s quality and customer service standards. The ideal candidate would be a ‘handyman’ in the traditional sense of the word but consider themselves a professional in the field with the knowledge and experience to back that up.

Job Description and preferred requirements:
Responsible for estimating small projects, performing rough & finish carpentry, drywall patching, painting, installing windows & doors, to name but a few, as well as supervising sub contractors and providing excellent communication and understanding with customers. This is a full time job and benefits (medical, short/long term disability, dental, paid holiday/vacations) are provided.

Qualifications:
1) A strong and thorough understanding of the industry.
2) MUST have at least 2 years experience in residential remodeling and 5-7 years in the trades.
3) Experience giving estimates.
4) Ability to work well with other coworkers and clients.
5) Ability to instruct others.
6) A strong work ethic.
7) An ability to work independently and make decisions.
8) A valid license and a clean driving record.
9) Must have the necessary power and hand tools to perform basic home maintenance.
10) Able to pass drug and background check.
11)Basic administrative, computer and arithmetic skills to accurately prepare invoices and track paperwork.
12) Strength, balance, and agility sufficient to work at gutter-level heights, dig postholes, and move around in confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.
13) Ability to develop creative solutions when confronted by unique problems.
14) A lively, fun, outgoing demeanor with salesmanship skills is a huge plus!
15) Must live within 25 miles of Seattle
